In this episode, we continue our exploration of “Manifesting the Kingdom of God” through the lens of priesthood. We dive deep into Exodus 19, where God outlines His desire for the children of Israel to be a “kingdom of priests.” This foundational concept emphasizes the unique relationship God intended for His people, one characterized by direct fellowship and communion with Him.
The sermon reflects on the Israelites’ fear and unbelief, which led them to reject God’s invitation for personal engagement, opting instead for a mediator like Moses. We discuss how this decision shifted the priesthood’s responsibilities to Aaron and the Levites, and how their subsequent actions reveal a pattern of unbelief that echoes throughout scripture.
We also examine the contrasting examples of King David and King Saul, highlighting David’s adherence to God’s commands and his role in leading the nation in worship, while Saul’s disregard for divine instruction resulted in his rejection by God. Through these narratives, we uncover the essential duties of priests, including teaching God’s covenant, communicating His blessings, and encouraging one another in faith.
